About the Art
You canโt talk about the Troubadour without delving into the wild, untamed rock and roll culture that defined the Sunset Strip in the 1970s and โ80s, a chaotic, almost lawless era where anything seemed possible, and excess was the norm.
The venue, which was initially opened by Doug Weston in the 50โs, played a part in kickstarting so many of the careers of your favourite artists. It was here that acts like Elton John, James Taylor, and The Eagles found their footing, performing on its legendary stage before launching into global fame. Its small, unassuming space gave fans the rare opportunity to witness musical history up close, cementing the Troubadourโs status as a rock and roll icon worthy of standing alongside the stars it helped create.
