Eastern Columbia Building
Inspired by the Eastern Columbia Building, I finally illustrated a bucket-list view, adding a little creative flair to the private pool I havenโt yet seen in person.

About the Art
Iโve wanted to draw this view for as long as Iโve been working on my Los Angeles series, just look at it, itโs breathtaking. Iโm obsessed with the Art Deco tiles set against that bright blue pool. I havenโt been able to visit myself (itโs private residences), so it remains firmly on my bucket list.
Someone once told me floaties arenโt actually allowed in the pool, so I took a bit of creative liberty there. Thatโs the beauty of drawing these places, I get to make the scene exactly how I want to.

Process Behind the Print
Each print begins with research and a hand-drawn sketch. I then do a quick colour study to capture the mood, before illustrating the piece in Photoshop, layer by layer, refining every detail as carefully as possible.
โGeorge Townleyโs fun, graphic art captures our streetscapes through rose-coloured glasses โ a reminder that sometimes it takes an outside perspective to appreciate how good you have it.โ
